Symptoms

What symptoms can it cause?

  • Headaches that can be severe, with nausea or vomiting.
  • Visual symptoms, such as brief episodes of dimming or loss of vision, blurred vision, double vision or blind spots. If untreated this can rarely lead to permanent sight loss.
  • A whooshing or pulsing noise in the ears in time with your heartbeat (pulsatile tinnitus).
  • Swelling of the optic nerves seen on an eye exam (papilloedema). This can be in one or both eyes and may not cause symptoms at first.
